Stitch Fix – My New Fashion Bundle Obsession

Hi Ladies!
Today, I want to tell you about Stitch Fix, a brand new concept in fashion. Have you ever wanted to have your own personal stylist, but never thought you’d be able to afford it? Do you lead a busy lifestyle, and are unable to go out and shop as often as you’d like to? I think I’ve found what we’ve all been looking for in that regard.

Meet Stitch Fix, the personal styling team that caters to you at an affordable price – and you will always receive a variety of clothing items to choose from that you will most likely love!

The concept behind the service is simple:

You complete a style profile, letting the team know your true personal style, stats, measurements, and the other items aside from clothing you’d be interested in. You schedule a date to receive a shipment. Once you schedule your shipment, you will need to pay a $20 styling fee. The $20 is then applied as a credit towards whatever items you choose to keep from your box. From there, a bundle box is dispatched out to you with items your personal stylist has chosen for you, and the shipment will usually contain 5 items. From there, you will choose what to keep and what to send back within a 3 day time frame. Shipping items you don’t want back is free, as a pre-paid return sticker is included with your shipment. Only pay for what you keep, and send the rest back!

You can schedule shipments as often as you like – or even once every 3 months. It’s completely up to you!

Items your stylist may send out in a shipment to you are as follows:

and so much more. They are always adding new items into their arsenal, and work with a lot of indie and up and coming brands to bring you styles nobody else you know will be wearing. To me, I think that’s pretty awesome!

Most items cost about $50 each, but you can choose the ‘least expensive’ option, which will get you finds for any price range below that. There is a lot to choose from.

They offer sizes available from XS (0)- XL (14)! Petite sizes are also available as well.

One Size Fits All – Or Does It?

I was cooking dinner tonight for my kids when the thought of a package I am to be receiving crossed my mind. In this package is a gorgeous piece of lingerie, one I’ve been anticipating receiving for about a week now. When I made the purchase, I went into this knowing that the article of clothing was a, ‘One Size Fits All’ piece – I will refer to this by it’s name or OSFA to save myself some time.

A year or so ago, I would have scoffed at the thought of a One Size Fits All option. This is in part because my weight was significantly higher than it is now, and also, because I didn’t believe in the idea that one size could truly fit all.

What prompted me to actually make the purchase was the fact that it was a rare piece, one I hadn’t seen anything quite like before. Why am I telling you this today? Well, because I still truly dislike the term One Size Fits All.

Every woman’s body is different. Who’s to say something that will comfortably fit a size 7 woman, such as myself, will fit a size 11 or 14, such as I used to be? It’s nearly impossible, even if the item were to be made of the stretchiest fabric in the world – something nylon like – and not only would it not look good or feel good, but it would also drive down a woman’s confidence who has never purchased a OSFA option. When she makes this purchase online, for instance, she might assume this piece would surely fit her – after all, it will fit everyone. Won’t it?

While every woman’s body is different and common sense would tell us that a OSFA option probably won’t fit everyone, I feel it needs to be said that clothing companies should really include a mandatory disclosure that a One Size Fits All item is truly not meant for every woman, of every weight, and every body shape. Amen?

I personally know this item will fit me now, but the me a year ago would never have been able to get away with such an item. Although I personally knew that these types of items wouldn’t fit me, not every woman does know. Sad, but true.

No matter what your body type, love it, embrace it, and cherish it. After all, you only get one body. Take care of it, nourish it, and treat it right – and chances are, you will love what you end up with in the end.

That’s all for now – I hope everyone is having a stellar night.

These are some of my top pics for summer. So many color options, styles, materials and textures. I think my favorites are the second one in, which is a Marchesa Notte gown, the sixth one in which is a Dolce & Gabanna, and the second to last one, which is from Kristian Aadenevik. Love all of these dresses!

What are your thoughts? Which ones are your favorite(s)?

I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Loving Today’s Dress

I wanted to share some pics of a dress I bought when I fell in love with it at a thrift store – got it for a mere $6 and it was brand new! Gorgeous, isn’t it? I love the fit, the pattern, and the feel.

Don’t mind the bra peeking out of the back; I didn’t notice it was showing until after. Ah, well. Also – the gold belt didn’t come with the dress, I just added it.

Very spring like – I love it!

Fashions for Easter Sunday

For those who celebrate Easter Sunday, you know how joyous this weekend can be. Many of you will be looking forward to a nice dinner with family, Easter egg hunts with the kids, dip dyeing eggs, and lots of candy. Dressing up in your Sunday best and heading out to a church service or mass is something of a tradition in your household. Perhaps you need a little help getting ready, and you aren’t quite sure what to wear this year. No worries – I’m here to give you a few cute options that won’t break your bank, will leave you looking your best, and will have you looking classy and stylish no matter what your style.

Depending on where you’re located, dressing up in a nice dress with some heels and an Easter hat is usually pretty commonplace – at least, it is here in the South. It was also this way living and growing up in Boston, Massachusetts. For my family, getting up and having a nice, early breakfast – buffet style, usually at one of our favorite restaurants – and heading to an early sunrise church service was always something we took part in. Now that I’m grown and have children of my own, the traditions have changed a bit – but my core beliefs have remained. Easter means something more to me now that I fully understand the concept behind it, and what it means for me.

When it comes to choosing dresses for Easter, everyone has their own style. Lets take a look at a couple different options below that would be perfect for the Easter Holiday.

Easter Ideas

Each of these gorgeous dresses are modest, classy, casual enough, and affordable. They are mostly vintage inspired, which is making a huge comeback. Choose bright, happy Spring colors and accessorize with hats, necklaces, bracelets and dressy gloves. Pair your dress with some of your favorite shoes – sandals, stilettos or pumps work well with these types of looks and dresses.

What’s your Easter style? I’d love to hear about it in a comment below!
