Many of you by now have heard of the various beauty subscription services out there that offer monthly or more frequent beauty deliveries straight to your home. There are many subscription services to choose from – but some of them are better than others. Today, I would like to showcase one of the top beauty bundle services there are – and they are known as Birchbox.
For those of you who love e.l.f. cosmetics, I have some exciting news!
I wanted to point out to you all that e.l.f. Cosmetics offers a beauty subscription where they send out a beauty bundle box every eight weeks, and it contains $40+ worth of e.l.f. products each time! They are full sized products, and many times, you will receive brushes as well. For those of you who adore receiving other beauty boxes, such as Birchbox, Beauty Army, and et cetera, this is the perfect addition to your makeup arsenal. If you haven’t subscribed to the e.l.f beauty bundle as of yet, what are you waiting for? It’s only $19.99 per every 8 weeks, and is delivered to your door.
So, I am working on some posts for the Lionesse brand this week on the 1920’s beauty, fashion, hair and skin care world. Tonight, I stumbled on an incredibly entertaining read from a magazine – an issue of McCalls Magazine, February 1920, to be exact – and I read it, laughing at a few different points throughout. The article was written by actress Suzanne Sheldon, and to my surprise, much of the article was extremely on point with what doctors and dermatologists recommend today, such as getting in plenty of exercise and eating a balanced diet, as well as drinking 6-8 glasses of water today (which, we all know now is extremely beneficial – but we should all be opting for 8-10, in truth) while much of it was completely laughable. My, how times have changed!
Many of you may or may not have heard of the new beauty trend known as strobing, but nonetheless, today I will be educating you on what it is, and how you can do it to get the look yourself. I completed the look myself above, although I didn’t go full on crazy with it – I kept it somewhat on the subtle side of strobing. Is there such a thing?
This post is going out to all of the girls and women of the world who are Debbie Downers on themselves in terms of their looks. That’s right – I am talking to you!
Listen up, because you need to hear this.
If you have ever tried to apply sunless tanner, chances are you had some big regrets after application. I remember as a young teenager thinking I could have the most flawless tan around without spending hours sitting in the sun. I walked to CVS Pharmacy, bought a bottle of sunless tanner (which brand, I don’t remember) and went home excited to give it a try. After application,I realized I had made a terrible mistake! It was at that point I would swear the stuff off forever. It smelled terrible, left me looking like a striped zebra Oompa Loompa hybrid, and quite honestly, self-conscious.
There is a right way – and a wrong way – to apply sunless tanner. In this article, I detail the specifics on the article I wrote for Lionesse Beauty Bar – and if you have any plans to apply this product yourself, be sure to read this before making a bad mistake that could cost you your integrity. Don’t look like a forgotten Oompa Loompa from the set of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Instead, obtain your perfect bronze glow – the right way, and the safe way, with proper application of a self tanner.
Have you ever wondered what kind of cosmetic products the women of the 40’s would wear to get their flawless look? What Hollywood movie stars made the biggest impact on women in America – and why? I was curious to find the answers to those questions myself.
I did a lot of digging to find out the answers to those questions – and I came up with this blog post for Lionesse Beauty Bar. If you love 1940’s beauty, have a look at it!
