Thanks for stopping by to read tonight’s blog post. It’s been a while since I’ve come on here and written a post for all of you to enjoy, so I figured now was as good a time as any to get back into the swing of things, what with fall right around the corner and so many fantastic makeup and skin care products to behold with the changing of the season. Fall is absolutely one of my favorite times of year, and I am more than excited that it’s finally arrived!
Tonight, I want to revisit a topic I have touched on a time or two here on the blog in the past, and that’s hydrating your skin. You might think buying whatever cheapie, on sale moisturizing cream you can find at your local Walgreens will work. Well, it might, in a pinch – but do you really trust all of those ingredients you can barely pronounce to save your life? Yeah, didn’t think so. Read on to see what you should be doing to care for your skin – inside and outside.
Hydrate From Within
I can’t stress enough how incredibly important it is to hydrate from within. What this means is, drink water. Lots of it. The more, the better. Your skin cells are constantly regenerating. Without adequate water, those new, beautiful cells are going to look lifeless, dull, and flaky. Water is the key to having beautiful, supple skin that’s able to hold it’s elasticity – and appear hydrated on the outside. Save yourself the itchy, flaky skin – especially this time of year – and drink your 10-12 glasses of H20 per day.
Use Quality Moisturizer
I know what you’re thinking: “But that stuff’s expensive!” And my answer to that is a resounding YAS! It is! However, think about it this way: think of your moisturizer as an investment to your health. You wouldn’t not take a prescription medication your doctor prescribed you for an infection requiring antibiotics, would you? Of course not; on the contrary, you’d want to get those pills in ASAP! Think of your moisturizer as your skin’s prescription, and splurge a bit. You want to put quality ingredients on your skin – because those ingredients will ultimately end up inside your skin, as moisturizers are absorbed into the pores quickly. Personally, I use Forever Flawless White Diamond Collection and have been for the past 2 years now, and I am 100% OBSESSED. Is it expensive? You bet your ass it is. But it’s worth it.
Use Natural Oils
If you just can’t bring yourself to use any type of store bought moisturizer, whether it’s because of the price, or if you just don’t like using products on your skin – you still have an option! Coconut oil is one of the most fantastic moisturizers on the planet – and you can use it in place of any store bought moisturizer, with sometimes better results than you’d get from some of those store bought concoctions. This is also a great option for those with extremely sensitive skin.
So, as you see, it’s important to keep your skin hydrated, moisturized, and clean to ensure wrinkles stay at bay as long as possible. Nobody wants to be 33 looking like they’re 45 because they didn’t take proper care of their skin. Can I get an Amen?
Be sure to check back soon as I will be posting another blog this week.
Have a great night, everyone!
