When it comes to hair care, I know a thing or two about a thing or two. I have had long hair most of my life, except for that terrible boy-short haircut my mother forced on me when I was in the 3rd grade (truth be told, I will probably never recover from that experience, if I’m being honest) and so I have learned through trial and error what works and what doesn’t. Some things work better than others. Some things will actually surprise you. Some of the things we do on a daily basis are causing our hair undue stress and can leave your hair looking and feeling unhealthy. Today I would like to provide you with some tips and tricks for growing your hair long and beautiful, as well as some basic hair care tips that I’ve mastered to get long, beautiful, healthy hair like you see in my pictures.
I was excited to receive a sample of the Charlotte Tilbury ‘Scent of a Dream’ in the mail, lightning fast and shipped directly to me from Charlotte Tilbury herself. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect in terms of scent, only that this perfume was supposed to scream ‘SEXY’!The bottle looks a bit crystalline and I love the classic look to it. It’s very old glam. Once I received the sample and opened the bottle, the first thing that hit me was what a stunning, different scent this was. I could instantly detect high notes of a woodsy, musky scent, as well as a bit of peach. I could also detect what seemed to be Patchouli. I was right on both counts. Apparently, the top notes within this perfume are peach, lemon, and black pepper. The mid-notes are jasmine, frankincense, tuberose and violet, and base notes of fire tree, patchouli, and ambroxan.
This is an incredibly sophisticated scent, and I wouldn’t recommend wearing it for anything other than an evening out, or for an intimate evening in. This scent is every bit as sexy as the claims that were made of it. The longer it sits on your skin and has a chance to work and change with your pH, or, ‘dry down’ as it’s called, the better it smells. I loved the scent the more it sat on my skin, and by the next morning I loved it even more. I can’t explain how incredibly satisfying this scent is.
This scent does not have anything citrusy or light about it at all. Make no mistake, its a thick layered scent that can only be described as black and mild cigars meets a glass of wine. Seriously, just try it for yourself. If you like a musk, woodsy scent, the scent of patchouli, and other deep floral scents, and like a strong perfume that lasts without being overpowering, this is the one for you.

It’s October! Can you believe it? That means sweater weather, fall hair styles, darker hair, smokey eyes, leggings and boots. Oh, and let’s not forget pumpkin everything, and hot chocolate! Okay, so, maybe the boots and sweaters not so much here in South Florida, but I will be the 1% who you see trying. I will undoubtedly melt in the sun, but still.
Life is going pretty amazing, and I couldn’t be happier. I have a beautiful family and a blessed life. What could be better?
Since he’s so darn adorable, I’m here to bless you with a few more updated pictures of my sweet baby boy, who is now 7.5 months old! Time is flying right in by. He is getting 3 teeth at once, sits on his own, is trying to crawl and makes life 100 times better just by his gorgeous face smiling at me every morning. There’s nobody better to fall asleep hugging and holding, or to wake than this little guy!
Obviously, I’m obsessed.
I have a brand new beauty post coming this week. STAY TUNED!
It has been such a long time since I have written a post – since last July, I believe! I thought I had written a post detailing the fact that I would be on hiatus for a while due to the fact that I had some exciting news – I was pregnant! I wanted to spend all of my time focusing on my pregnancy, and enjoy every minute of it. And that’s exactly what I did. ☺
My baby boy was born February 16th, 7 weeks earlier than expected. He spent a month in the NICU at one of the best hospitals in the area, in a level 3 room – the area of the NICU where the babies require the most critical care. He made leaps and bounds in a very short amount of time, and after 3 weeks, he was transferred to a level 2 NICU and spent about a week and a half there. My baby boy underwent many rigorous, painful tests, multiple IV placements all over his tiny body every day, breathing treatments with a CPAP machine, was hooked and is still hooked to monitors to track bradycardia episodes – a dip in his heart rate. He is doing fabulous at this point, though, and is growing stronger every day.
He has been home for about 3 weeks, and he has been such a blessing in our lives. I can’t imagine my life without him in it at this point. I am obsessed and in love with my sweet baby.
Meet Richard III!
This was right after he was born. As you can see, he was pretty bad off. It was heart wrenching to see him this way.
This is my sweet, beautiful baby boy now:
He is now 11 lbs and growing strong!
I look forward to posting occasionally, and I hope to hear from you ladies in some comments! Xo Much love!
