Beauty Bloggers: Grow Your Twitter Following

Everyone knows beauty bloggers who take their blogging profession or passion seriously want to reach as many people as possible. That’s why social media plays such an integral role in today’s blogging word. Word of mouth spreads like wildfire through social media, and I love that I can share my links one time and they make the rounds thanks to my followers sharing them with their friends, followers, and family.

Since views are important, so then is having a large follower base. Now, there are apps and websites that you can buy followers on – but…why would you want to do that? These ‘followers’ are usually a bunch of fake pages, ‘ghost’ pages, or pages that will spam and hack into your account. No thank you. Plus, my reputation as a mom blogger means more to me than to have a few hundreds (or even thousands) of fake followers.

I have found the perfect solution to the problem, though. Do you want to get real followers? Well, enter Valet.Social – the new way to market your Twitter account.

How to Hydrate Your Skin Naturally

Hello Friends!

Thanks for stopping by to read tonight’s blog post. It’s been a while since I’ve come on here and written a post for all of you to enjoy, so I figured now was as good a time as any to get back into the swing of things, what with fall right around the corner and so many fantastic makeup and skin care products to behold with the changing of the season. Fall is absolutely one of my favorite times of year, and I am more than excited that it’s finally arrived!

Tonight, I want to revisit a topic I have touched on a time or two here on the blog in the past, and that’s hydrating your skin. You might think buying whatever cheapie, on sale moisturizing cream you can find at your local Walgreens will work. Well, it might, in a pinch – but do you really trust all of those ingredients you can barely pronounce to save your life? Yeah, didn’t think so. Read on to see what you should be doing to care for your skin – inside and outside.

Hydrate From Within

I can’t stress enough how incredibly important it is to hydrate from within. What this means is, drink water. Lots of it. The more, the better. Your skin cells are constantly regenerating. Without adequate water, those new, beautiful cells are going to look lifeless, dull, and flaky. Water is the key to having beautiful, supple skin that’s able to hold it’s elasticity – and appear hydrated on the outside. Save yourself the itchy, flaky skin – especially this time of year – and drink your 10-12 glasses of H20 per day.

Use Quality Moisturizer

I know what you’re thinking: “But that stuff’s expensive!” And my answer to that is a resounding YAS! It is! However, think about it this way: think of your moisturizer as an investment to your health. You wouldn’t not take a prescription medication your doctor prescribed you for an infection requiring antibiotics, would you? Of course not; on the contrary, you’d want to get those pills in ASAP! Think of your moisturizer as your skin’s prescription, and splurge a bit. You want to put quality ingredients on your skin – because those ingredients will ultimately end up inside your skin, as moisturizers are absorbed into the pores quickly. Personally, I use Forever Flawless White Diamond Collection and have been for the past 2 years now, and I am 100% OBSESSED. Is it expensive? You bet your ass it is. But it’s worth it.

Use Natural Oils

If you just can’t bring yourself to use any type of store  bought moisturizer, whether it’s because of the price, or if you just don’t like using products on your skin – you still have an option! Coconut oil is one of the most fantastic moisturizers on the planet – and you can use it in place of any store bought moisturizer, with sometimes better results than you’d get from some of those store bought concoctions. This is also a great option for those with extremely sensitive skin.

So, as you see, it’s important to keep your skin hydrated, moisturized, and clean to ensure wrinkles stay at bay as long as possible. Nobody wants to be 33 looking like they’re 45 because they didn’t take proper care of their skin. Can I get an Amen?

Be sure to check back soon as I will be posting another blog this week.

Have a great night, everyone!

Growing Long, Luscious Locks: The Right Way to Care for Your Hair

When it comes to hair care, I know a thing or two about a thing or two. I have had long hair most of my life, except for that terrible boy-short haircut my mother forced on me when I was in the 3rd grade (truth be told, I will probably never recover from that experience, if I’m being honest) and so I have learned through trial and error what works and what doesn’t. Some things work better than others. Some things will actually surprise you. Some of the things we do on a daily basis are causing our hair undue stress and can leave your hair looking and feeling unhealthy. Today I would like to provide you with some tips and tricks for growing your hair long and beautiful, as well as some basic hair care tips that I’ve mastered to get long, beautiful, healthy hair like you see in my pictures.

Charlotte Tilbury: Scent of a Dream Review

I was excited to receive a sample of the Charlotte Tilbury ‘Scent of a Dream’ in the mail, lightning fast and shipped directly to me from Charlotte Tilbury herself. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect in terms of scent, only that this perfume was supposed to scream ‘SEXY’!master-soad-bottle-image.jpgThe bottle looks a bit crystalline and I love the classic look to it. It’s very old glam. Once I received the sample and opened the bottle, the first thing that hit me was what a stunning, different scent this was. I could instantly detect high notes of a woodsy, musky scent, as well as a bit of peach. I could also detect what seemed to be Patchouli. I was right on both counts. Apparently, the top notes within this perfume are peach, lemon, and black pepper. The mid-notes are jasmine, frankincense, tuberose and violet, and base notes of fire tree, patchouli, and ambroxan.

This is an incredibly sophisticated scent, and I wouldn’t recommend wearing it for anything other than an evening out, or for an intimate evening in. This scent is every bit as sexy as the claims that were made of it. The longer it sits on your skin and has a chance to work and change with your pH, or, ‘dry down’ as it’s called, the better it smells. I loved the scent the more it sat on my skin, and by the next morning I loved it even more. I can’t explain how incredibly satisfying this scent is.

This scent does not have anything citrusy or light about it at all. Make no mistake, its a thick layered scent that can only be described as black and mild cigars meets a glass of wine. Seriously, just try it for yourself. If you like a musk, woodsy scent, the scent of patchouli, and other deep floral scents, and like a strong perfume that lasts without being overpowering, this is the one for you.
